Jeremih Says 50 Cent 'Came Through' On 'Down On Me'
Jeremih recently sat down with MTV NEWS and heres the interview:
Jeremih was a lonely crooner on his self-titled debut album. For his follow-up, however, the Chicago singer recruited Ludacris for the first single "I Like." And for "Down on Me," likely the next single from his new album All About You, Jeremih worked with 50 Cent.
Jeremih said he wasn't trying to hog the spotlight on his first project.
"My first album had no features at all," Jeremih told MTV News. "It was an unintentional thing. Me and Mick [Schultz, his producer] were the only people in the studio, so that's just how it happened. ... So for this album I definitely wanted to collaborate, get in tune with some of the artists, even on Def Jam, 'cause we have the greatest on our label. Luda came through on 'I Like.' 50 Cent came through on 'Down on Me,' which is a contestant to being my second single."
The pair never met during the recording process, but they finally came face-to-face a few weeks later when Jeremih ventured to the G-Unit offices and played his entire album for 50 Cent.
"Thugs and gangsters listening to R&B, and I think they were digging it, genuinely, so it was pretty dope," Jeremih said.
On Wednesday (September 29), 50 also added his vocals to Jeremih's track "Waiter/ The 5 Senses."
"I'm a 50 Cent fan, even from his G-Unit when he first came out with Get Rich or Die Tryin' to movies and films and even the little short films he do with his CDs," Jeremih said. "I think he's dope."

Singersroom Exclusive Interview w/ Jeremih !!
At only 23 years of age, R&B singer Jeremih has managed to do what most new artists in this day and age can’t do, produce and write their own music. The “Birthday Sex” singer will release his sophomore album, ‘All About You,’ on September 28, led by the first single "I Like" featuring rapper Ludacris.
‘All About You’ is the follow-up to Jeremih’s self-titled debut, which entered at number six on the Billboard 200.
Having the opportunity to produce two albums, Jeremih says it’s because he’s not a typical R&B artist.
“Well, I wouldn’t consider myself an R&B cat. I can make great R&B music but the thing that separates me from them is that I’m a musician,” Jeremih tells Singersroom. “I wrote my entire album. I doubt the others can say that. I thank LA Reid for believing in my project. This album has all the ingredients of touching all bases of music. I think that’s what makes me different. I think I have the ability to make a pop record. All of these R&B artists are good artist and they all have their niche but I want people to get used to my sound.”
Even though Jeremih considers himself different, he also has love for other R&B cats like Trey Songz and Chris Brown.
“Like myself I feel like Trey has the capability of what I call rap singing,” Jeremih tells Singersroom. “He’s on his third or fourth album and I think he has evolved into the artist that he is today. Now I think Chris Brown can be considered a rap singer also. I think the ladies love him. He has got everyone loving his style and his sound that’s a beautiful thing. His approach and lyrics are pretty dope.”
Not only showing love to his peers, Jeremih is all about pleasing the ladies, so we wanted to know what he looks for in a woman.
“I am looking for someone that will hold me down. Someone that can be my best friend before anything else,” he says. “Obviously you can’t just be looking for someone with a good mind and spirit when all you are looking at is the physical. So I like beautiful women. I don’t think I have a type, I think anyone can fall in love anyone. I don’t think anyone has a type. A woman that has a good heart and that can hold me down would be my pick.”

Jeremih's Interview with Rap-Up.com !!
Jeremih recenty sat down with rap-up.com and did a 10-question interview, where he talks about what he want to accomplish, what type a drink he likes, what he dont like and his pet turtle. Check out the Q&A below:
Weathering the storm of first album jitters, Jeremih is levelheaded for his sophomore release, All About You (Sept. 28). For this effort, he reunited with the lucky charm he used on his debut: Mick Schultz. The beatmaker crafted all of the tracks set to appear on the crooner’s second album. On top of that, Jeremih already has collabo clout with the likes of Ludacris (“I Like”) and 50 Cent (“Down on You”). Expect some lyrical growth from the 23-year-old as he creatively tackles subjects of abandonment, physical friction, and insomnia.
Jeremih was his chipper self, shining in place of the absent sun as he let loose with Rap-Up.com to discuss his drink of choice, the song he thinks Nicki Minaj should sample, and the name of his pet turtle. Here’s what he had to say.
1. When is the last time you took a trip back home?
Two days ago, actually. For the first time in a long time. [It was] incredible. Woosa! The best woosa that anyone can have in this industry.
2. When you go to an event, what do you order at the bar without fail?
Grey Goose, mixed with orange juice and cranberry juice, with a shot of Malibu. Makes me feel like I’m on an island every time.
3. Finish this sentence: This date is over when…
She keeps talking about her ex-boyfriend, and what he did wrong.
4. What do you think would be a hot track for you or another artist to sample?
I always thought, from a production standpoint, it would be dope if Nicki Minaj remixed a sample of “Barbie Girl” [performed by Aqua].
5. Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names?
Yeah, I have a turtle. [His name is] Peedi Crakk.
6. Summer is coming to a close. If there could be one season year-round, what season would you want it to be?
Fall. [Because of] the fashion, the weather. I don’t like too much heat. Heat and I really don’t get along like that. I like the holiday season as well, so it’s a great time for me.
7. What type of perfume or cologne can’t you stand?
It’s that cheap stuff… It’s a musk. I can’t stand musk.
8. You recently judged a talent competition for Dwyane Wade’s “Chicago’s Got Talent.” If you could be the next judge on “American Idol,” what would you look for in a contestant?
Versatility, which is more than talent. [Also] a great personality and a beautiful… I would say overall, someone that looks appealing to the eye.
9. Has anything or anyone inspired you in the last 24 hours?
Yes, my mother, actually. She always leaves me long voicemails and I don’t really pick up my phone. She left me the nicest one earlier. She knows that this week the album was due, and there was a lot of unnecessary stress. At the same time, she’s always been there and always gives me a good word for the day.
10. What else do you want to accomplish in your lifetime?
[I want to start] my own label. I want to be able to produce other acts. [Also], starting my foundation for a school—the Imma Star Foundation, which I am trying to build in Chicago where I am right now. It’s just giving kids an outlook and a way to utilize their talents and their skills just as I did. I want to develop my own cologne, my own scent, [one people will buy] once they get tired of musk.

Jeremih talks it up with Rap-Up.com
Check out this interview Jeremih did with http://www.rap-up.com/ where he discusses his upcoming sophomore album, ALL ABOUT YOU !!!

While working on All About You, which was produced entirely by Shultz, Jeremih explains the duo’s dynamic changed. “It was different,” he tells Rap-Up.com. “I feel like we have a great chemistry when we’re in the studio. We actually knew that we had a job to do now that I am a signed artist. I felt like the first time we met, we were just writing records and just coming up with music, not that it wasn’t so fun anymore, but not with the mind set that I am an artist and this is going to be all me, and [that] I have to have a point to prove here.”
Together, Jeremih and the beatmaker crafted songs like his new single “I Like” featuring Ludacris and “Take Off.” “Most women express their feelings on what they feel they should do because usually a guy ends up supposedly hurting them,” Jeremih says about “Take Off.” “But on this record, I feel like I wanted to express a story which I [experienced] myself. Dealing with a woman and all of their endeavors, sometimes, they wear and tear on you… It’s basically saying sometimes you just got to take off.”
While that song will resemble Usher’s Confessions, Jeremih admits another track, titled “Sleepers,” will live up to the reputation he’s built to create tunes full of sexually-charged lyrics. “You have a love song; you have a baby-making song,” he continues. “But I think this one covers all of that. It was so easy writing it. The lyrics on the hook are, ‘I hope you’re not a sleeper.’ [It’s] basically saying that I will keep you up all night, [but at the same time] it’s not saying that. There’s a whole bunch of metaphors and innuendos in which I use to express that. It’s basically saying, ‘How much can a sleeper dream through?’”
All About You will be released on September 28 via Def Jam.

R&B crooner Jeremih is gearing up for the release of his second album, All About You, next month. The Chicago native—known for his celebrated anthem “Birthday Sex”—is sticking to the formula he used to create his first effort by teaming up with producer Mick Shultz, once again.
